New Electronic Filing Process Available for Some Counties!

If your county uses electronic filing, you may need to download your County List from the county’s Personal Property Return portal. See below for the five most common county websites for electronic filing:

Multnomah

Washington

Benton

Clackamas

Deschutes

Douglas

1. Update your prior year Property List

  • When your county mails you your “Confidential Personal Property Return” (Form OR-CPPR), it will include a separate document of your prior year Property List. Note that you may need to download the property list from the county website, if your county uses electronic filing. Or, your county may use an excel file for filing by e-mail, which you will need to download and save. Do not print the excel file as a pdf. If you do not receive a copy in the mail or there is no electronic copy available, you will need to contact the county office to request this list.
  • Save the original as a .pdf
  • Make a copy of this document and save. On the copy, mark a line through any assets that have been disposed of and write in 1) the date of disposal, 2) the means of disposal (selling, scrapping, donating, exchanging for another like business item), and 3) the sales price, if sold.
  • Scan the marked-up copy of the Property List and save the document. You will need to include this scan when you upload documents in step #4.

2. Upload the County Form by February 7, 2024

  • Scan in the original, un-filled form and save the document. You will need to include this scan when you upload documents in step #4.

3. Download the Personal Property Return Information Organizer (click to download Excel file)

  • Complete one organizer for each separate business location (make copies of the Excel file and save separate files for each location).
  • Please pay special attention to Schedule 1, Schedule 2 and Schedule 5B. Quick Tip: On Schedule 2 (non-inventory supplies), as a general guideline, divide your annual office supplies expenditures by 12 to determine the ending inventory.
  • The excel file contains a worksheet for the organizer, plus worksheets for each Schedule if additional space is needed.

4. Upload Documents by Wednesday, February 7, 2024

Go to our secure ShareFile upload page: Jones & Roth PPT Document Uploads and upload the following documents:

  1. Document scan of the Original un-marked Property List
  2. Document scan of your marked-up Property List
  3. Document scan of the original, un-filled Personal Property Return Form
  4. Completed Information Organizer Excel File (1 file for each business location)

IMPORTANT: DO NOT SEND VIA EMAIL for security reasons, as your document contains Personal Identification Information.
